Camp ASCCA is continuously seeking qualified applicants for summer staff positions of counselors and program staff. We look for staff that has high moral character, love for the outdoors, an enthusiasm for life and an interest in working with special populations. The 2009 Camp ASCCA Camper Of The Year Is ... Miss Becky Johnson
On November 14th, Camp ASCCA presented Becky Johnson with the 2009 Camper of the Year award. At the end of every summer, the ASCCA Summer Staff votes for camper of the year. Becky Johnson has been attending camp for the past ten years, and takes every opportunity to tell people about her “favorite place to be!” Congratulations Becky! We are very proud of you, as we are of all of our Camp ASCCA campers! MD/PD Fall Weekend
The campers at Camp ASCCA are very fortunate to have opportunities to attend camp throughout the year. Each Fall, Camp ASCCA devotes a weekend for our Physically and Mentally Disabled campers. This year, the Fall Weekend happened to land on Halloween. So, as you will see, campers enjoyed a dance and all of ASCCA's activities plus pumpkin painting and carving as well as a Carnival! Enjoy the slideshow and videos from this special weekend. Also, Christmas Weekend is right around the corner! Get ready!!!

Drake School Enjoys Day Camps!
Day Camps for schools is another one of the many services Camp ASCCA offers. With the Oscar C. Dunn Environmental Center and the surrounding natural habitat, Camp ASCCA is rich with learning opportunities for students of all ages. The ARPA Camporee!
The Alabama Recreation and Parks Association "Camporee" participants enjoyed their time spent at Camp ASCCA this September. Campers come from all over the state of Alabama for a weekend of fun. Camp ASCCA Easter Seals is the world's largest camp of its kind providing therapeutic recreation for children and adults with disabilities. The age range for campers is 6 to 96. Open year-round, Camp ASCCA is a barrier-free environment and is located on Lake Martin in Alabama. Camp ASCCA offers horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, fishing, arts and crafts, rappelling, zip-line, water tubing, archery and riflery, mini-golf course, paved nature trails, and much more!
ASCCA's goal is to serve those who can derive maximum benefit from the resident camp experience and provide a healthier, happier, longer, and more productive life for children and adults of all abilities. Camp ASCCA will also accent "reverse mainstreaming" by including non-disabled persons with disabled persons.

Camp ASCCA affiliates with Easter Seals. In return for our Easter Seal affiliation, Camp ASCCA is able utilize group discounts for facility and employee insurance and employee retirement plans. However, we cover the daily costs for all of our programs, activities and operations. Over 90% of the people attending Camp ASCCA require financial assistance to cover their camp fees, and no camper is ever denied due to inability to pay.
